Everything you need to know about CEO coaching, how I work, and what to expect.
About CEO Coaching
CEO coaching is a structured one-on-one relationship between a founder-CEO and an experienced coach. Unlike consulting (where someone tells you what to do), coaching develops your internal capabilities — mindset, decision-making, emotional resilience — so you can navigate leadership challenges independently. Think of it as having a thinking partner who has been in the arena and can help you see blind spots.
Consulting gives you answers. Coaching develops your ability to find the right answers yourself. A consultant might build your go-to-market strategy; a coach helps you develop the strategic thinking capability to build and iterate on it over time. Both have value, but coaching creates lasting leadership capacity rather than one-time deliverables.
CEO coaching is most valuable for early-stage founders navigating the transition from builder to leader. If you're scaling from $500K to $5M+, hiring your first leadership team, managing a board for the first time, or feeling the weight of decisions that didn't exist a year ago — coaching accelerates the transformation you need to make.
Sessions are tailored to what you're facing, but common topics include: mindset development, emotional regulation under pressure, decision-making frameworks, difficult conversations (with co-founders, investors, team), strategic planning and OKRs, hiring and delegation, managing board relationships, fundraising preparation, and founder burnout prevention.
About Working with Oz
My approach is psychology-driven. While I incorporate many frameworks, I don't promote any single system. I believe every relationship requires something different based on the founder, the business, the team, and the stage. My goal is to listen, collect context, and help you develop the inner capabilities — mindset, resilience, decision architecture — that drive everything else.
I meet with CEOs either weekly or biweekly, depending on the package. Between sessions, you can text or email me at your convenience. I typically respond right away, but guarantee a 24-hour response time.
One quarter (3 months). Most engagements last 3-4 quarters, but that's not a requirement. I work with companies and CEOs that I believe will be a good fit long term.
I primarily work 1:1 with the CEO, but I've worked with co-founder pairs when alignment is the core challenge. The intro call is a good place to discuss your specific situation.
My ideal clients are early-stage founders: SaaS companies with $50K+ MRR and sub-90-day sales cycles, or ecommerce businesses doing $500K+ in annual sales. Bootstrapped or venture-backed both work. The common thread is founders who are past product-market fit and hitting the leadership ceiling.
I keep my practice small — typically 4-6 CEOs at a time. This lets me give each client the depth and availability they need. Because of this, I require a discovery call before working together to assess mutual fit.
Pricing & Logistics
I offer a sliding scale based on company and/or personal financials. Per-session rates range from $300–$500, and a typical monthly engagement (4 weekly sessions) is $1,200–$2,000 per month. All engagements include direct access via phone, email, and text between sessions (10am–5pm ET, Monday–Friday). I'm passionate about remaining accessible to early-stage founders — if budget is a concern, reach out and we can usually find a way to make it work.
I offer a free introductory call where we discuss your objectives, challenges, and whether there's mutual fit. This isn't a sales call — it's a genuine assessment of whether coaching is the right move for you right now.
60-minute coaching sessions (weekly or biweekly), direct access between sessions via text, email, and phone, and support on real-time decisions. Some engagements also include pitch deck review, strategic planning support, and introductions from my network.
All sessions are virtual via Google Meet (phone calls are fine too). Sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays at a consistent recurring time. Sessions typically last 60 minutes, but can be shorter or longer depending on what you need.
Schedule an introductory call using the booking link on this page. If we decide there's a mutual fit, I require the first month's payment to get started. We then schedule an initial deep-dive session to understand your business, set expectations, and identify focus areas.
Results & Expectations
Most founders notice a shift in how they think and make decisions within the first 4-6 weeks. The bigger transformations — leadership identity, team dynamics, strategic clarity — typically emerge over a full quarter. Coaching compounds over time; the ROI of month 6 is significantly higher than month 1.
Over 25 years, I've coached 25+ CEOs and helped scale 6 startups (4 with successful exits). Typical outcomes include: greater clarity and confidence in decision-making, successful hiring of first leadership team, improved board and investor relationships, elimination of founder bottleneck, sustainable work-life integration, and accelerated revenue growth.
